Why Haiti needs our help
Haiti is a small, tropical country west of the Dominican Republic and south of Cuba. The country is one of the poorest countries in the world. About 58.5% of the population lives below the poverty line and has a high trade deficit.
Haiti faces serious environmental challenges. The once valuable coastal and marine areas are under severe threat from sediment deposition and overfishing.
At Development Future Haiti, we want to pull Haiti out of economic and environmental degradation. We strongly believe in the power of quality education and environmental protection.
With your support, we can build schools, address the country’s economic problems, and contribute to Haiti’s ecological development.

The Challenge
Since the 2010 earthquake, Haiti has been more dependent on development aid than ever before. Due to political instability and repeated natural disasters, the country is making little progress. More and more children suffer from lack of education and become street children.
The shortage of food, which is currently bridged by imports, the environmental damage caused by a waste management system that does not function well, the garbage burning at every corner of the streets, the plastic disposal in the canals, which leads to flooding and the conditions under which food is sold, causing disease outbreaks, are, according to our long experience, the most central problems for the country.
What we do about it
Education for children
We firmly believe in the power of quality education. With your support, we can educate schools about the country’s economic problems. We want to get children off the streets and give them a future with education and freedom.
Training of small farmers
The promotion and especially the training of small farmers is important so that they can make a positive contribution to the ecological development of Haiti.
Landscape conservation
We want to counteract the food shortage, from which famine results, by supporting farmers with expertise and agricultural material in the care of the countryside.
Cleaning up the environment
We want to reduce ecological pollution and prepare for natural disasters. That is why, for example, we integrate environmental education in schools at an early stage to raise environmental awareness even among children.
